Dmytro Kurywczak

Dmytro Kurywczak obtained his B.A. and J.D. degrees from DePaul University.
He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1988. Since then, he has been engaged in practice as a general litigator representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the courts of six counties surrounding Chicago. Mr. Kurywczak is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is a member of the bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

His experience entails civil litigation including personal injury, family law, probate and guardianship, construction matters, forcible entry and detainer, and contract litigation. He successfully represented clients in both the prosecution and defense of civil lawsuits as well as misdemeanors, major traffic and DUI. He has recently argued a case before the United States Court of Appeals in Washington D.C.

Mr. Kurywczak has handled in excess of 1000 cases in his career of 24 years. Of these cases, many have been settled prior to the filing of a lawsuit. He describes his approach to client relations as “educational”. His philosophy is that a client who knows as much as he can about the law applied to his case, is in the best position to help himself by making effective decisions about the course of litigation and settlement. Clients take advantage of his forthright cost-benefit analysis of cases which fosters maximum results with minimum cost and time.

Mr. Kurywczak is 52 years old, is married, and has two children. He is an avid mountain biker and fierce supporter of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. His friends and family call him "Jima".
